Changing times

The last twelve months has been a period of much change, not just for manufacturers but for Kingsbury as a solutions provider. Earlier this year, we set up our new Blog Page to enable us to share with you more about what we do and to lend our insights on the wider economic and industry issues – not the least of which is Britain’s decision to leave the EU and ensuing discussions about the means of its departure.

Below are just a few of the highlights in this year’s blog calendar…

Building for the future – what’s been happening at Kingsbury

Achieving More together
One of our first blogs looked at how we work together with our Principals to support you the customer and the additional expertise we have invested in to assist you in finding the right solution.

Adding a new dimension: Kingsbury gears up for the future
Earlier in the year Kingsbury created a new Grinding Division, to coincide with our appointment as sole representative in the UK for Haas Schleifmaschinen.

2017 also saw the introduction of significant new technical developments which are set to save manufacturers time and money

Driving Innovation: It’s in our DNA
Hermle’s ground-breaking benchmarking solution enables the health of your machine to be tracked from the point of delivery, simplifying maintenance and optimising performance.

Roads? Where we’re going we don’t need roads…
Our blog on the automotive industry looks at the major trends transforming car production including driverless cars and the advent of hybrid and all-electric vehicles, a theme we later developed in our blog The birth of a new era?

New materials and production techniques are emerging which are revolutionising component manufacture, particularly in the aerospace sector

Additive Manufacturing: the way forward
Additive manufacturing offers a completely new approach to parts production, with the deposition of layers of metallic particle which are then cut to shape as opposed to manufacturing from solid bars. We review Hermle’s new machine, the result of years of research.

Tough talking: machining titanium
At the other end of the scale, we look at the challenges of working with this very tough but versatile material and advise on what to look for in a machining centre.

We look forward to sharing more of our thoughts and news in 2018 and would like to take this opportunity of wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
