A resounding success – Index Open House
Last month saw the latest in our visits to our German manufacturers with the Index Open House Event (27/28th March), which attracted over 1,000 visitors.
Knowledge-sharing lies at the heart of the deep relationship we have with our principals. Open House events are an immensely important fixture in the calendar for us, offering the opportunity not only to keep our customers up to date with the latest technology developments but also to demonstrate how our applications engineers work closely with our CNC machining partners to provide advanced technical support and informed advice.
This year’s Index Open House offered visitors a world exclusive, with the unveiling of the new index MS-40 8 spindle machine. Also on view was the Traub TNL-20 which was launched at the event. (look out for further news on these shortly).
A mini-exhibition organised by Index to run in tandem with the event gave visitors the chance to explore what’s happening with other associated technologies. Attended by local sub-suppliers, the exhibition featured a range of products including tooling, fixturing, gauging and power monitoring systems and CAD/CAM software.
As part of the trip organised by Geo Kingsbury, attending companies visited Index manufacturing plants in Esslingen, Deizisau and Reichenbach. Customers could view first-hand how Multi-Spindle machines are put together and were introduced to a wide spectrum of machining aspects from heat treatment and large fabrication machining, castings and bed machine facilities, as well as learning more about the spare parts supply process. An intensive experience with a lot of technical information but well worth it according to participants.
“The best Open House I’ve been to by a mile! An invaluable chance to view CNC machining processes in action and chat to the engineering team – I was blown away by the level of technology on show and what Index had to offer.” Paul Cobb, Managing Director at HPC Services Ltd.
