Large German-built machine tools to be promoted

Manufacturers of large, complex, high precision components will profit from a visit to the Kingsbury stand at Southern Manufacturing, number N98, where the company’s LPM (large prismatic machines) division is being promoted.

SHW, F Zimmermann, BURKHARDT+WEBER and Waldrich Coburg are the famous German manufacturers of big capacity machining centres and flexible manufacturing systems for which Kingsbury acts as sole UK sales and service agent throughout the UK and Ireland. The latest Waldrich Coburg agency adds new machine types to the Kingsbury product programme, namely large capacity vertical turning lathes and grinding machines.

Smaller metalcutting equipment in the company’s portfolio, which is also of German manufacture, will be highlighted. It comprises the Hermle range of 3- to 5-axis machining centres and the single- and multi-spindle CNC lathe programme from Index and its subsidiary, Traub.

Richard Kingsbury, managing director of Gosport-based Kingsbury said, “In the last quarter of 2014, we opened an office in Birmingham, headed by business development director, Chris Hewitson, specifically to promote our LPM programme. He is assisted by senior applications engineer, Steve Burrows. Both have been active in the machine tool industry for all of their working lives.”

The latest Waldrich Coburg Taurus machining centre features hydrostatic guideways in all axes, a choice of three control systems, various interchangeable heads, fast installation and commissioning and an attractive price-performance ratio.
