Having long been investors and distributors of additive manufacturing machinery, we decided to establish a business that puts this exciting technology at the very forefront of the market. 

But we wanted to do it with a difference.

Additure’s goal is simple: to deliver a no-nonsense approach to additive manufacturing, making it easier than ever to understand. We know the interest is very much there, but caution has until this point prevailed.

What is 3D metal printing?

Simply put – 3D metal printing is a manufacturing process that uses additive technologies. You can still expect the same versatile, high-strength metal parts, but now, instead of a subtractive process, components are built by depositing metal in layers. 

The two leading technologies Additure will adopt for this are Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (or WAAM) and Laser Powder Bed Fusion (or LPBF). 

WAAM uses welding wire to create printed layers. This technology is highly reliable and can be used in various applications. If you’re producing parts with difficult-to-machine materials, WAAM can unlock considerable time and cost savings. 

Meanwhile, LPBF provides unparalleled freedom to design and construct geometrically complex structures. Using lasers to melt successive layers of powder into dense metal parts, it’s an exceptional tool if you’re looking to enhance the performance and lifespan of your components.
